Hello,
I would like to knwo if there is any known limit on the number of Unbalanced Hierarchies that can be used in a cube and if the Board 15 Version changes something ?
Thanks
Hi Alexis, I'm not aware of any limit, although I can imagine using two or more different unbalanced hierarchies on a cube could get quite complex to analyse. What is it you're seeing that makes you think there's a limit or that B15 has changed the behaviour?
Hello Robert,
I simply wanted to ask because I know there is a limit on the number that can be used in a layout without having perofrmance issue. And if this limit existed, I wanted to know if Board15 changed it.
Without problems that can be faced using many unbalanced hierarchies on a Layout, what could be the problems if we use 3+ unbalanced hierarchies in a cube ?
Thank your your precision.
Hi Alexis, understood.
Yes using more than one unbalanced hierarchy in the same layout could be tricky because for an unbalanced hierarchy to work in a layout it needs to be the most nested entity, otherwise it will behave as a standard entity, you could have one on each axis in theory and that should be fine as far as I know.
I'm not aware of any particular issues related to dimensioning a cube by multiple unbalanced hierarchies though outside of those layout limitations, how many were you planning to use if you don't mind me asking?
We were planning on having 3 of them. But with these limits and potential performance problems, we do not think that we cans have as many.
Thank you.
