Board's Latest Release Advances Continuous Planning with More Capable AI, Connected Planning Experiences, and Enterprise-Ready Governance

Earlier this year, we introduced Board Agents, a new generation of domain-specific, persona-based AI designed to help finance and operational teams make faster, more confident decisions using trusted business data. Rather than simply answering questions, Board Agents analyze change, explain what is driving it, evaluate alternatives, and help planners take action within the context of their business.

Our latest release, available today, builds on that foundation.

Across finance, supply chain, retail merchandising, and the Board platform itself, we're expanding how AI is embedded into everyday planning while strengthening the enterprise foundation that makes those experiences trustworthy, governed, and scalable.

More importantly, this release marks an important step in the evolution of Board Agents. Beyond expanding into new business domains, we're making our AI more interactive, more connected to planning workflows, easier to govern, and ready to scale across the enterprise.

In this release you'll see four major advances:

• More capable domain-specific agents that bring AI deeper into finance, supply chain, and merchandising workflows.

Together, these innovations continue our vision for Continuous Planning, where trusted business data, AI, and operational intelligence work together to help organizations continuously adapt as business conditions change.

Earlier this year, we introduced Board FP&A Agent and Board Controller Agent for the Office of Finance. Our latest release expands their capabilities and introduces new Board Agents for Supply Chain and Retail Merchandising.

We are also previewing the Board Architect Agent, which applies AI to the creation and continuous evolution of enterprise planning solutions.

Together, these persona-based, domain-aware agents embed AI directly into the governed planning workflows where business decisions are made, helping users analyze performance, evaluate alternatives, and move from insight toward action while keeping people in control.

Delivering an Agentic Office of Finance

Finance leaders need AI that connects financial close, consolidation, planning, and performance management into one continuous decision-making process.

That's why this release significantly expands the capabilities of our Board Office of Finance Agents.

The FP&A Agent now goes beyond traditional variance reporting with new Causal Performance Analysis that explains the business drivers behind financial results, generates executive-ready narratives, and helps finance teams understand not just what happened, but why. At the same time, the Controller Agent brings accounting-aware intelligence to financial close with expanded use cases for Reconciliation Intelligence, Close Validation & Insights, and AI-assisted Account and Cash Flow Mapping that improve financial integrity while accelerating the close.

Together, the Board Office of Finance Agents create a more connected Office of Finance, with new collaborative capabilities including Cross-Statement Coherence, Group Performance Analysis, Consolidated Liquidity & Scenarios, Reconciliation Intelligence, and Close Validation & Insights.

The Merchandising System is Now Continuous

Our latest release introduces the Board Merchandiser Agent, extending Board Agents into merchandising planning by embedding AI directly into the workflows merchants already use every day.

The Board Merchandiser Agent operates inside Board's unified merchandising planning model, where Merchandise Financial Planning, Open-to-Buy, inventory, and commercial finance already share the same business context. Every recommendation is grounded in the complete commercial picture, not isolated planning signals.

The Merchandiser Agent brings intelligence across three connected merchandising use cases:

Merchandise Financial Planning: the agent helps planners classify categories as growth, core, or decline, review planning accuracy across sales, margin, markdowns, and pricing, and identify where forecast assumptions succeeded or failed to strengthen future plans.

Open-to-Buy: the agent continuously monitors inventory health and 13-week OTB performance, prioritizes the planning lines with the greatest commercial impact, identifies the root causes behind inventory risk, and recommends corrective actions before issues compound into costly markdowns or lost sales.

Allocation & Replenishment: extends that intelligence into in-season execution, connecting OTB monitoring with physical stock movement across channels and stores. Planned capabilities include detecting stock imbalances and size or color risks, recommending inventory reallocation and store prioritization, and helping merchants improve availability, sell-through, and inventory productivity.

Together, these capabilities create a continuous merchandising planning loop, connecting category strategy, buying decisions, inventory execution, demand signals, and financial outcomes so every merchandising decision becomes faster, more complete, and commercially grounded.

Build Autonomous-Ready Supply Chains

Our latest release introduces the Board Supply Chain Agent to continuously sense supply chain disruptions, evaluate trade-offs, synchronize operational and financial decisions, and respond as conditions change.

The Supply Chain Agent brings intelligence across three connected supply chain planning use cases:

Risk & Opportunity, helping planners identify emerging demand volatility, supply disruptions, and business risks before they affect performance.

Meeting Insights, transforming S&OP discussions into structured themes, decisions, and follow-up actions that improve organizational alignment.

Constraint Intelligence, identifying capacity constraints, evaluating operational trade-offs, and simulating feasible corrective actions before decisions are committed.

The result is faster, more synchronized decision-making across the supply chain, not simply faster analysis. Organizations gain a stronger foundation for more responsive, AI-enabled planning while keeping planners firmly in control of every decision.

AI becomes most valuable when it becomes part of the planning workflow, not a separate destination. That's why this release introduces a richer, more connected planning experience.

This release introduces our new Agentic Workflow Integration. Board Agents can now transform AI-generated insights into actionable planning inputs by sending structured results directly into Smart Import. Rather than manually recreating recommendations inside planning models, users can move from analysis to execution in a single workflow while remaining fully in control of the final data ingestion step. This shortens the path from insight to action while keeping users in control.

Board Agent responses are now interactive. Users can now sort, filter, reorganize, copy, and export AI-generated tables directly from the conversation, making it easier to explore insights without interrupting the planning process.

Planning itself also becomes more personal with enhanced MyViews, improved design mode awareness, reusable layouts, and further advancements for the Board for Microsoft 365 add-on including enhanced reporting, localized user experiences, and streamlined migration from our previous Board for Microsoft Office add-in.

Smarter Planning, Forecasting, and Analytical Intelligence

Better planning depends on better understanding, not simply more data. This release introduces new analytical capabilities that improve both transparency and confidence across planning workflows.

Board Operational Forecasting now supports a new univariate forecasting approach that enables planners to compare multiple statistical forecasting models side by side, making it easier to validate assumptions, evaluate forecasting accuracy, and select the best model for each business scenario.

We're also expanding analytical intelligence across the platform through enhanced causal analysis, richer planner personalization, improved distinct-count calculations, and AI capabilities that better understand the business context behind enterprise data.

Together, these enhancements help organizations move beyond reporting what happened to understanding why it happened and what should happen next.

Enterprise AI and Platform Foundation

As organizations adopt AI across more planning processes, the technology behind those experiences becomes just as important as the experiences themselves.

Every Board Agent now runs on a new orchestration foundation built on the Microsoft Agent Framework on Microsoft Azure. This enterprise-grade architecture delivers greater scalability, observability, and parallel multi-agent orchestration, providing the foundation for increasingly sophisticated planning workflows.

We're also making Board Agents more business-aware through new Dataset Attributes. Developers can now enrich datasets with business-friendly descriptions that help agents understand company-specific terminology and planning concepts. Instead of relying on technical metadata alone, Board Agents can interpret enterprise data using the language of the business, improving accuracy, consistency, and trust across every conversation.

Together, these platform innovations provide the enterprise-ready foundation that will power the next generation of Board Agents.

Enterprise AI Commercialization and Trust

We understand that enterprise AI isn't just about new capabilities. Organizations also need a clearer path to adoption, transparent governance, and the operational controls to scale AI with confidence.

Our latest release introduces a new consumption-based licensing model for Board Agents, giving organizations the flexibility to expand AI across business functions through a shared pool of API Credits. The new licensing model also provides enhanced visibility into usage, centralized administration, and new controls for AI enablement to make it easier to manage adoption as AI usage grows.

We're also releasing our new Board Agent Version Management, giving customers complete control over when new agent capabilities are adopted, with in-product release notes, compatibility guidance, and version controls that preserve existing implementations while simplifying upgrades.

Finally, we're continuing to strengthen the trust that underpins every Board Agent with expanded regional deployment and data residency options, improved transparent AI experiences, enterprise security controls, and governance aligned with evolving regulatory requirements to help organizations deploy AI with confidence, knowing every recommendation is grounded in trusted business data and supported by enterprise-grade safeguards.

Our latest release also introduces new capabilities that simplify administration while strengthening governance across the Board platform.

Administrators can now centralize user lifecycle management across Board products, while improved Managed Identity support strengthens cloud security by reducing reliance on stored credentials. Enhanced identity management, Subscription Hub improvements, multi-region Operational Forecasting deployments, and expanded platform administration capabilities help organizations deploy AI and planning at enterprise scale with greater consistency and control.

Board Word Add-in. In corner cases, when users changed a selection or refreshed a large Word report with many Layouts, error messages displayed on screen, or one or more Layouts were lost. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023896]

Broadcasting. When a Broadcasting task was created with "From Layout" as "Recipients source", closing it would revert any changes made to the option to generate a Presentation. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023440]

Broadcasting. When switching from one broadcast to another without closing the first broadcast, the layout displayed for the second broadcast remained the same as the first one. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023441]

Capsules. An error message could display when creating or opening a Capsule stored in nested folders. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023898] 

Capsule images. When an image used as a background was removed from a Capsule, the image could remain visible until the cache was cleared. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023882] 

Charts. In some Charts, axis colors could be lost after a browser refresh. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023782]

Charts. When "Disable Drilldown" was enabled on Charts, the setting was not kept after saving the Screen and reopening it. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023160]

Containers. Responsive Container Objects did not allow to change the "Children Width Type" option from "Dynamic" to "Fixed". This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023774]

Cubes. Cubes flagged as "Hidden" in a Data Model were visible to users with User Licenses in the Layout Editor. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023937]

Data Entry. Aggregated commits failed on reverse algorithm Blocks with Unbalanced Hierarchies on the row axis. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023905]

Data Readers. New Data Readers of type "Remote" were saved as type "TextFile" and could not be edited. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023520]

Data View. Resizing columns did not work as expected. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023431]

Drills. When a Drill was configured for a Data Block in the Layout of a Flex Grid or a Data View, after performing it, resizing one of its columns, closing the Drill window and reopening it, the Drill configuration was not kept. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023723]

Drills. When there was a Drill configured in the Layout Editor for one of the Data Blocks, after performing the Drill, filtering the results, closing the Drill window and reopening it, the Drill configuration was not kept. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023926]

Dynamic headers. In corner cases, dynamic headers did not work for Time Entities as expected. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023941]

Entity editor. The member counter in the Entity tab showed incorrect values after a search. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000022163]

Excel export. Data View titles that contained ":" were not preserved as worksheet names during export. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023855]

Excel printable reports. Records with decimal values could be missing when the "(Blanks)" checkbox filter was cleared. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023518]

Export users. For Board licenses without a Subscription Hub, when exporting users' metadata, "Developer" licenses did not display as expected in the export. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000021507]

HBMP logs. HBMP log files were saved to an incorrect directory when the Data Model contained special characters. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023323]

Layout Editor. The preview section did not work as expected for Cartesian, Pie, and Radar charts. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023966]

Log settings. In corner cases, in System Administration, log file names displayed the generic "Cpsx_" prefix instead of the correct log type name. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023962]

Menus. In versions prior to Board 14, long Capsule names were truncated in menus. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023294]

On-premises environments. On self-hosted On-premises setups, the "web.config" file set compilation debug to true instead of false. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000021214]

Permission Groups. When a role was assigned through a Permission Group, the user avatar indicator could remain orange even though the assignment was completed. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023765] 

Procedures. A Screen Object configured as hidden in the Layout Editor was still displayed on the screen when a Procedure associated with that object was executed. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023969] 

Procedures. After "Password protection" was disabled on a Screen Object and the Capsule was saved, the password setting could reappear after a refresh. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023806] 

Procedures. The "Advanced" Procedure Action group was visible, including its associated Procedure steps: "Save pending changes to disk" and "Cluster slave upload to master". This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023775]

Procedures. The preview text area in the bulk insert Procedure step panel was too small. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023067]

Procedure Debugger. Column widths could not be changed in Layouts generated from the Procedure debugger window. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023469]

Replicated Entities. When a member was created through Smart Import on a replicated Entity, members could not be displayed correctly until the database was reloaded. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023741] 

Role security. The Save button remained disabled after all security selections were removed. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023722]

Rules. In the Rules tile inside a Data Model, if the user scrolled after selecting one row, the element was deselected automatically. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023263]

Rules. Invalid Rules were saved, even though an error message displayed. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023279]

Scheduler. When scheduling a task with monthly frequency and "Last" was chosen as the execution day, although the task was successfully saved, the "Day" field did not display as expected. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023826] 

System Administration. Deleted authors were included in counters but were not displayed in Delete member lists. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023601]

System Administration. Role names that contained special characters were not displayed correctly in the Authorization Hierarchy field. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000021550]

Tooltip dialog. The tooltip dialog box could not be resized manually. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023880]

Transporter. In the "Snapshot Comparison" tab of the "New Data Model package" panel, when all changes were deselected from the package overview and changes were then selected in multiple grouped lists of changes, the changes selected in the first grouped list were deselected when they should not have been. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023547] 

Transporter Snapshot. Japanese characters could become corrupted after a download and upload operation. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023930]

Unbalanced Hierarchies. Between different versions, the Data Model Security could attribute to replicated Entity members the same settings as their corresponding non-replicated Entity members. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023675]

Unbalanced Hierarchy. When deleting a relationship within an Unbalanced Hierarchy through the Relationships tile of the Data Model, the clear icon did not work as expected and the relationship was not removed. This bug has been fixed. [PRB-000023825] 

Hi everyone, I'm trying to recreate the Flex Grid layout shown in the screenshot (I've hidden the cube names, hopefully that's not an issue). 

In Cube 3 (Block C), I enabled Data Entry and set Detail By = Column: Month. Data entry is locked by Condition Block G, which is an algorithm also configured by Month. Due to the validation conflicts I encountered, I had to set Detail By = Month for all cubes to resolve those issues. 

The only remaining problem is with Entities. They are not configured by Month, and if I try to set them by Month, I get another validation error saying that **Entities cannot be entered by Month**.

 I'd also like to mention that I implemented the exact same layout in a Data View on Board 12, and it works without any issues. The problem only occurs with the Flex Grid on Board 15.

 Has anyone faced this issue before, or does anyone know of a workaround or the correct approach?

Admin Portal. When downloading a file with Japanese characters in the file name from the Admin portal, the downloaded file name was garbled. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023517

Advanced Broadcasting. Advanced Broadcasting sent separate emails for each TO recipient and could send duplicate or incomplete CC emails. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022775

BEAM Forecasting. BEAM Forecasting could show an incorrect "Observed time range" FROM date after a saved scenario was reopened. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023645

Board AI Agents. When an Agent used a dynamic selection, the chat stayed blank and the Screen selection call failed. This bug has been fixed.

Bookmarks. Selections set by Calendar or Selection Procedure were not saved in Bookmarks when "Deny selection editor" was enabled. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022883

Broadcasting. Broadcasting from layout could fail when a recipient name contained multiple special characters. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023633

Broadcasting. Scheduled emails were sent even when the Broadcasting license was disabled. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022659

Data View template format. When a Data View used a template and a Block format, changes to the template formatting overwrote the Block format. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023772

Dynawrite. When a Screen included Dynawrite Objects from both a Screen and a Mask, exporting the document to Word didn’t work as expected. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023163

Dynawrite. When setting a font color to bullet points on ordered or unordered lists, the bullet points remained black. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023663

Entities. The Entities page showed an "Oh no!" error when a Data Model contained an Entity without a group. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023687

Entity format templates. Entity format templates did not show the Entity code in the "Member" list when the display option was set to "Code + Desc". This bug has been fixed. PRB-000021986

File Manager. A folder with a dot in its name was treated as a file in File Manager. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023829

Permission Groups. When searching for a Role in Platform authorization, the list of Roles was not filtered. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023156

Power BI Add-in. In the Power BI Add-in, when a Layout contained Data Blocks without headers, Presentations did not load and an error occurred. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023640

PowerPoint Office Add-in. A layout refresh in the PowerPoint Office Add-in could break the layout format and dimensions. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023810

Procedures. In a Call Procedure step, the list of procedures was not sorted in alphanumeric order. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022689

Procedure editor. The Procedure step text in the detail box was clipped at the top and bottom. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023863

Relationships. The "Clear" button did not remove a selected member from the Relationship tree of an Unbalanced Entity. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023825

Relationship normalization. The Relationship normalization panel did not detect some changes and could reset checkboxes after scrolling. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023817

REST API Procedures. When testing a REST API procedure step, an error message appeared while data was loading. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022471

Scheduled jobs. Scheduled jobs created in Admin Portal could fail when the user password contained the “=” character. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022639

SQLite path. SQLite databases configured outside the default path were not found because Board searched for the password in the key vault and created a new SQLite database in the default web folder. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023877

Substitution formulas. The @datetime substitution formula used a different time format in file names than in the Data View layout title . This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022166

Temporary Cubes. Right-clicking a temporary Cube in a Capsule Procedure or Data Model Procedure selected the Cube instead of opening the edit area. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022652

Word Add-in. Word Add-in would scroll to the top when the user selected a row near the end of a document. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023364

Data Entry. When configuring Data Entry divided by options in a Data View, the value was not updated after saving the Data Entry, and an error appeared in the log. When the same operation was performed at physical level, no error appeared. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023471

Data Model. When the "Missing parent only" toggle was activated in the Relationships page of a Data Model, the last Member in the list was not displayed. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023379

Data Source. When accessing Data Sources or related configuration panels, the "Disable table sampling" option was still displayed in the UI. This option was not functional and appeared across Data Sources, RDB Cubes, SQL Data Readers, and Drill Through configurations. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023182

Data View. Columns in a Data View could be resized from the column header border even if the "Allow user to resize" option was disabled. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023820

Data View. In a Data View, when using the Restore function in Quick Layout, an error message appeared and the restore action did not work. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022642

Data View. In a Data View with the following configurations: 

• an empty Data Block, 
• checkbox enabled, 
• "Hide Zeros" option disabled, 
• two Entities on Rows with "Show all" option enabled, 

when collapsing and expanding rows, random checkboxes appeared selected although no Data Entry was applied. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022882

Data View. When applying a filter based on a Data Block with an aggregation function, the filter did not remove rows that did not meet the condition and empty rows continued to display. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000022649

Flex Grid. When exporting data to Excel from a Flex Grid in Pivot Mode, the column order did not match the order displayed on the Screen. This occurred for both standard and flattened exports in existing configurations. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023797

Label. When opening a Screen or refreshing the browser with the "Visibility" option in Dynamic Options enabled on an Object, hidden Labels displayed during page rendering. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023801

Localization. Broadcast exports displayed default English strings instead of localized values. Additionally, running a Broadcast through a Procedure reset the user language to English when returning to the home Screen. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023479

Objects. When a Label was placed in front of another Object with a tooltip, the tooltip was still displayed even if the Object was hidden. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023805

Procedures. When a Procedure step executed an Object, the process failed and an error message appeared. Sometimes warning messages also appeared during Selections and other steps. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023849

Procedures. When removing the Yes/No flag from a "Show message" Procedure step, the Procedure continued in an incorrect group instead of remaining in the main group. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023040

Procedures. When running an XBRL Action after changing the Reporting Unit Entity selection, the generated XBRL output did not reflect the current selection and instead matched the previously selected Reporting Unit. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023560

Relationships. When a Normalize action ran concurrently with a member insertion on an Entity, the process failed. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023848

Screen. On-Screen tips with a transparent background displayed with a white background instead of remaining transparent. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023107

Selector. When a security selection was configured for an unbalanced Entity and a parent selection was applied, the Selector did not display any Member when "Show only active members" was enabled. When the option was disabled, the Selector displayed the Members. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023681

Smart Import. When using "Suggested values" for an Entity with code and description in a Smart Import, values copied and pasted into another row were not recognized for the description. This bug has been fixed. PRB-000023827
