Hi! How can I stop getting notifications when anyone "comments", "likes" or "marks as helpful" any resource in the community? Is there a setting to just limit the items I'm (automatically) following? thank you
notifications are a key element to stay "up to date" and be notified when something you are interested in is being updated or commented.
If for some reason you are getting "too many notifications" or you feel like you're being flooded by information, worry not it is very easy to customize and tailor the notifications you'll be getting from our community.
All notifications you are receiving are related to:
- the content you have created
- the content you are following
In both cases, the way to "stop following" and to "stop receiving notifications" from such items, is to navigate to the space/section/document or item page and click on the top right "Following" item
where you can easily find checkboxes that identify the current status of notifications.
The "Following" button itself, will turn into "Follow" if you disable notifications (as in fact it will allow you to "follow" the stream again, in case you activate it).
When it comes to documents/threads/discussions, the look and feel is slightly different but the actions to be performed are similar. Clicking on the "Actions" button, you will find the "Follow" checkbox which you can either thick or untick according to the desired behaviour.
In attition to the article Michele Roscelli has already posted, i would suggest navigating also How to: Manage your email preferences to get more info omn your inbox.
Hope this helped
from your profile icon on the top right, go on "Preferences" and you'll be able to change all the notification settings in a couple clicks.
If you instead want to follow or unfollow a specific discussion, by going on the top right corner of a discussion, under the "Action" dropdown, you can tick/untick to follow a specific discussion.
There is also an article that explains how to manage notifications in detail: How to: set up notifications
Hope this helps,
