Upgrade to Board 11.2 concerns
Hello,
we upgraded from 10.6.1.4 to 11.2. We migrate database and capsule.
The system is now very slow. We have a day version, we created a monthly version, and added a new version. We also used the learn option but performance are not improving.
Dynamic select does not work anymore. Several time is going in loop mode and it is not possible to stop it.
Board manual is still for client version and version 11 information are inserted only in the release notes, therefore it is difficult to have a full understanding.
Our impression about version 11 is not good and we will remain at 10.6 which is working well also on web and we can still use client for development.
Can you please give us a feedback about your upgrade experience? Have you been able to upgrade and have good performances. Is minimum hardware requirement necessary?

Dear Gabriele,
one of the major aim of the B11 version is enjoying its performance. This may be more evident for some Customers less for others. A lot of parameters contribute to this outcome; size of the data, structure of the info-cube, density of the information. B11 learning intelligence is determinant in the choice of the most performant info-cube structure and versions; as any very young technology it brings benefits in the vast majority of business cases, but it may miss the sensibility to cope all the limitless design models the Board developers adopt.
We have a very tight Q4 road-map to zero those few exceptions we're being reported, where there is not an immediate performance benefit such as you're claiming. I would then suggest to stay very tuned about the release announcement of the approaching B11 releases. The Board International Support Team will anyway contact you soon to have additional elements of investigation. I can only say we appreciate a lot those early adopter customers like you are, which reports help us a lot in the seamless improvement of the Board Software.

We have done the same analysis and we found that if we are displaying data from the cube without any calculations in the layout then it's quite fast.
However once we add formulas in the layout then the same reports are much slower and we are forced to do that since the Board DB can only perform aggregation calculation. And you know that in FP&A / EPM models, there is always a lot of formulas!
That's why the learn option or creating aggregated version does not help with speed.
=> I think there is a large room for improvement related to the speed of layout calculations and / or HTML rendering.-------------------------------------------0
