Chart Color Block

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to change the color of the chart Color block and/or add a 0-line?

The red/green division is quite bold and my users are not happy with it. We want to show the 0 line but using "Show Gridlines" just adds all the lines. We only want the 0 line.

Alternatively, we want to use more subtle colors in the Color block.

Any ideas?

    Hi @ALICIA MEREDITH-SMITH,

I'm afraid there is no option of changing the colours in the colour blocks. But, since you've mentioned you could go with a 0 line, maybe this would help?

This was achieved by defining an algorithm block "0" set to be displayed on the secondary axis:

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Kind Regards,
    Helmut

    Dear Helmut,

Thank you so much. It works perfectly!

Here is another little tricky question - is it possible to exclude this 0 item from the legend?

    Dear Alicia,

I don't think it is possible to exclude any member from the legend. Since the legend can be used by the end-user to toggle the display on/off it wouldn't be feasible, either.
But, if you shift the legend a little bit

You can place a label with a solid white background (or whatever the background colour of your chart) over the not desired 0 item:

And this will hide the legend-entry for this item.

    Hope this helps,
    Helmut

    Hi Helmut,

Again - a very clever idea!

It's just a pity that it's not more customizable.

I appreciate all your help with this Helmut!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Alicia,

yes, some things could be more customizable, I agree.
On the other hand--some things can easily be achieved (think of the time-functions, for example).
There might always be things requiring "going around your elbow to your ear" to achieve ;-)

You're invited to post your ideas of customization in our "ideas section" of the community.

Glad, I could help - stay safe.
    Helmut
