Dear Marco,
I would be interested to see the reply you will have on this.
As far as I know, it might be possible on the new version 12 for Cloud Subscription.
For on premise, the only thing you can do with the BUM is to create or delete the basic info for user (name/profile/pass) but all meta data (mail, name ...) cannot be updated.
We are thinking on our project to use external tools for that purpose.

Hello together,
you could see the comment in the ressource articel "Chat and User Metadata" that this update function doesn't work properly.
We have a pending Ticket since begin of April.
It is promised to be solved with Board 12 or Board 10.8 (but for the moment I doesn't know, if an 10.8 will be released).
May in Cloud there will be a better functionality.
