A new GeoMap object was introduced back in Board 2021 Spring release. It is based on Google Maps services and is available for advanced data visualization. With this new feature administrators can customize the new Map Objects to allow user interaction with the map.

In this session, we'll show you how to set up and use a GeoMap object within Board, focusing on various settings to enable the Google Maps functionality.

Hello @Sudhir Raju - this great webinar triggered a number of questions from the audience:

Cubes of latitude and longitudine must be SINGLE type or Double? @Alvise Battistuz

How do you set up a higher zoom in level, in the initial configuration, for example zoom in level 5? @Daniela Diamandescu

Do we have to always feed the latitude and longitude to board, or board maintains these coordinates (up to some level say zip codes)? if my file contains, cities or states, will board automatically identify these locations and pull the coordinates ? @Sourabh Dasgupta

Is it possible to map on a country code? Instead of exact latitude & longitude coordinates by David Mandl

Hi,
@Alvise Battistuz it shouldn't really matter, but it would better to stick to what we have shown during the video.
@Sourabh Dasgupta you will need to have Lat and Long to use the map features as these are the two inputs in the settings (same answer to David Mandl question as well

)

@Anastasia Pesyakova HI Anastasia! is there any further development planned for the geo-map object? compared to GeoMap-Object in other tools (QlikSense/View, Tableau etc.) the BOARD object is clumsy and offers only very basic settings etc. Also the performance could be much better.
