Hello,

I have been running into trouble when trying to set the color of a series on a bar chart. When I select the series and change the color, it applies the same color to all of the series. Has anyone run into this issue and found a solution?

Thanks,

    Note:

I have found a trick to get around this for any users who have not upgraded from 10.6. Select the "Switch Row/Column" button under the cartesian menu then unselect it.

    Hi Matthew,

did you choose a specific series or did you change the color with "All" series being selected?

    Hello Matthew,
can we have a screenshot of the configuration that you have in the layout of the chart and also in the series properties?
    Thanks

    Hi Matthew,

I don't understand your problem. Maybe you can describe your current outcome and what you'd expect instead.

Please note that in your example the defined color for 2021 will be applied to all vessels for the year 2021. So it is not possible to have vessel A with 2021 in blue and vessel B with 2021 in yellow. Probably it would make more sense to switch categories and series and to have the year in categories instead.

    Kind regards,
    Bettina

Here is my output. As you can see, each Vessel that has data for 2021 and 2022 has two bars representing each year. They appear to have the same color, so the user cannot tell the difference between the series. When I edit the series color of one year, it applies the color to both series.

    Hi Matthew,

    thanks for the clarification.
I suggest to open a ticket at our support portal. Maybe this is a bug that you have encountered.

On my local machine I could not replicate your issue so it makes probably more sense to have someone from the product support involved in your case.

A little teaser for you: In the current BEAP (so with the upcoming Winter Release) you will be able to define a series template for charts! This can be defined as default for all charts as well.

    Kind regards,
    Bettina

    Hi Mathew,

This is a bug that's been identified in version 10.6 and has been fixed from version 10.7.0.0.47139. I would suggest you to upgrade to version 10.8 as this is last upgraded version in 10 with upgrades and fixes from previous versions.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Samson.
