How to calculate branch contributive view in GCR
1 . Abstract
Board Group Consolidation and Reporting (GCR) is our statutory and managerial consolidation tool. In GCR, we strongly suggest to leverage the consolidation nodes with a multi-logical flat approach. It allows the reproduction of any consolidation or sub-consolidation with the direct contribution of each Reporting Unit (or Legal Entity) to each consolidation node.
Following that approach, you may be missing the direct contribution of a Branch / Perimeter / Country / Activity or whatever grouping of Reporting Unit you may have to the group.
This guide will help you to understand how you can reproduce that same view without having to activate the “Staged Conso” feature.
2 . Context
In this How To guide, we will guide you through the process from the creation of the grouping or Reporting Unit to the reporting customization.
The need in that example is to give the direct contribution of each country and each activity to the group (considering that all IC transactions inside each activity/country but also between each activity/country and the rest of the group have to be canceled statutorily).

3.1 Configuration
In the configuration, you have only a few steps to do :
- Back end :
- Rename 1 or several customizable entities
- Link them as Parent of Reporting Units
- Allow User in View
- Front end :
- Create a Smart Import to populate relationship between Reporting Unit and the member in the parent entity
- Load the relationship file
We strongly suggest to add this smart import screen in the Reporting capsule to ease upgrade process in case of new GCR version/patch.
3.2 Reporting
Next and very last step is to create reporting screens that will display the new entity instead of the Reporting Unit. You can also add the new entity as filter in various screens.
See sample of results:
The logic of Reporting is now the following :
Contribution of a RU to a Consolidation Node :
- RU filter : Unique RU
- Perimeter (New parent of RU) filter : NA
- Consolidation Node filter : Unique Node
- Layer : 13
Contribution of a Perimeter to a Consolidation Node :
- RU filter : All
- Perimeter (New parent of RU) filter : Unique Perimeter
- Consolidation Node filter : Unique Node
- Layer : 13
Reporting Unit as a stand alone :
- RU filter : Unique RU
- Perimeter (New parent of RU) filter : NA
- Consolidation Node filter : Unique Node
- Layer : 01
Perimeter as a stand alone :
- RU filter : All
- Perimeter (New parent of RU) filter : Unique Perimeter
- Consolidation Node filter : Unique Node
- Layer : 01 if homogeneous currencies or 06 if various currencies
