Board server cannot start because the user storage is corrupted or not readable.

The question is related to the Board Engine - however it may possibly be related to the User folder. Unfortunately, we are unable to diagnose and can use assistance at this point. Three business days ago, the system administrator freed up 80 gb of data on the server because it was full. He removed old database backups. This was the last action taken on the server that we are aware of. Two business days ago (last Wednesday), users reported that they were unable to connect to Board after launching it. All users are receiving the same error message: "board server cannot start because the user storage is corrupted or not readable". The admin restarted the server in the attempt to get users connected to Board. At this point, he became aware that the Board Service would not start. It has not run since.

The system administrator has run the Memory Diagnostic Tool, Check Disk and has run the defragmenter on the server and the error message is still occurring and the Board Service continues not to start/run. Does anyone have an idea of how we can correct this error and get users connected as well as to get the Board Service running again?

    Hi @Bryan M.

as @Tommaso Riva for this kind of issue the best option is to open a ticket on https://support.board.com

If you want to start a little bit of troubleshooting i would act like this, considering the issue you received ("board server cannot start because the user storage is corrupted or not readable"):

    1. take off all the files from the folder \board\users
    2. try to start the Board Service

if it starts regulary, it means that those files have been corrupted (it happened in the past when the drive where the Board Path is has been filled) and you must restore a working version of them.

let me know if this helps or not.

    best regards,

Thank you for your responses. It was a corrupted User folder. Once we removed the files the Board Service was able to start.
