How to use capsule procedure to apply selection to Layout Block

Hi Board Team,

I need to force a selection to a data block. Instead of manually changing it every time from design mode Block Reference, I tried to use capsule procedure to make it dynamic.

• use dynamic selection to select current month
• use Apply Selection to Layout Block

But the following procedure is not working. Could you please help me with me this? Thanks

Hi Shisong,

If I use Interactive Selection in the same procedure, it works fine. But if I use the Dynamic Selection select the current month by using Current Month Cube, then it won't work.

It seems like relating to the dynamic selection.

I've tried your idea in my local board, and it worked here. Please refer to my screenshots bellow. Hope it helps.

According to your settings above, it should've worked, but not worked as you expected.

"Apply selection to block" applies a "refer to" the target data block. So all the months in the screen will remain, with value = your selected month (Jun 24 in your case).

If you want to filter the months shown in the screen, you could use "apply selection to screen" instead.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

For the screen, I want it to show all months. But I want to calculate next 6 month Avg forecast in one colume.

If I use the Block reference to force it the block to Month=Jun.24, the calculation is correct. So I am trying to achieve this selection on the Block by using the procedure.

This is my first trial on procedure. Do you know why this Block selection is not working with the procedure?
