The rules for the P&L are not working correctly, they are blank and nothing is appearing. Not sure what I am doing wrong. (I even tried twice to restart the process)

ah, I've found at least one error in your rule definition
This formula is missing the opening square bracket.
The best way to let the rule take into account a certain member of the entity is to double-click it. Whenever putting in the members manually, you're in danger of overlooking something.
And since rules don't have a mechanism of checking the formulae for any errors you'll have to do that yourself.
