Why am I unable to create a capsule and folder in the UI?

Somewhere along the way some security setting must have changed, but I am no longer able to create a folder or capsule from the UI or transport new folders or capsule from non-prod environments. It's strange, I'm able to add capsules/folders in our non-prod environment just not in production.

I've checked all the role, folder, application profile, and database profile settings and they are exactly the same between environments. I have our version of administrator rights, so I'm very confused.

Your help is much appreciated!

    Hello @wdeer ,

please doublecheck if Folder Security is enabled (https://help.board.com/docs/the-folder-security-section )
Maybe your account has a folder security, which does not allow Read & Write access to the Capsule folder

    Regards

    Björn

The role I have does have folder security applied, but it's read/write access at the root level with security applied to all sub-folders. It's the only folder security applied to this role so I don't expect any conflicts.

Our security posture is built around folder security, so I can't toggle off. Is there an alternative method for building a "system administrator" role without folding security? Or any other troubleshooting means?

I believe I have found the answer. I've run into this in the past when creating new folders/capsules in production - folder security doesn't recognize new parents folders so you have to flip off folder security then flip it back immediately. Is this a bug in the software? It should immediately recognize new folders in production.
