Selecting Months for Single Month & Multiple Month graphics

I am trying to set up a screen that uses a single month selection for a waterfall chart and multiple months for a graph of monthly figures.

I have managed to get a procedure that selects the last twelve months, however I could not use this selection alongside the waterfall chart.

I have tried using a custom time entity but it has the same issue and cannot have overlapping month mapping.

Has anybody found a way around this issue so they can go back and view previous months at any time?

Having the same issue. Can't figure out to how to have a graph with 12 months and a data view with 2 months on the same screen with the same single month selection.
