Hello Team,

I have a question regarding the Detail By option on Cubes in a dataview. Is the Detail By similar to a Group By. I see from the documentation the Detail By overrides the by column axes. Also, if we consider below documentation, why would i override country by Channel by using Detail By when i could only set By column axis to Channel. Just trying to understand when to best use the Detail By option. What happens to country in below example

Hi @Khaleelah ,

the detail by option allows the display of data by a different level of detail compared to the entity set by column. You could imagine a cube being displayed by Month, and the same cube's PY value by Year, because you perhaps want to save space, and the PY value at the yearly level is enough information for that.

It's not the same as "group by", but comparable because it needs to aggregate the data to the desired level of granularity.
