best practices for upgrading to Board 14

Hello,

We are thinking to upgrade to Board 14 and I would like to have the community feedback about this. We are under 12.6 version.

Have you tested every single functionality before doing your upgrade to production ?

We were thinking about upgrading our dev environnement, developping our evolutions and testing them on it, thus covering the upgrade testing in the same time during 2 or 3 months. But I was wondering if the transport package is working fine between an environnemnt under version 14 and another under 12.6 where we would do our final testing.

Hi Catalina, you won't be able to transport between a B14 environment and a pre-B14 environment I'm afraid, I'd suggest using a server outside of your normal deployment path if possible to avoid impacting your ability to deploy urgent changes which testing B14.

Upgrading from B12 to B14 is a much less involved upgrade than pre-12 to 12 as the underlying engine remains fundamentally the same and no changes should be seen at a procedural level. I'd typically suggest a regression test to check for any visual changes and to ensure the basic end to end flow of your processes is unaffected, but there should be no need to retest each individual calculation.
