Level 200, Module 214: Expense data load and publish don't work anymore in play mode

Hi,

I've got an issue with the expense data upload & publish right now.

Everything worked perfectly, and since I updated the ACT - Expense Data Publish procedure, I can't load and and publish data from the screen anymore.

If I run the procedure from the procedure menu by clicking "run" (either the capsule or the data model one), it works, but not through the label in play mode. (In play mode, I click, it show me the message, I click yes, it refreshes the screen, it show me the message as if it was uploaded - or published - but nothing happens)

I don't have any issue for the sales data, only expenses.

Based on our review, the database procedure itself is working correctly, which is confirmed by the fact that it runs successfully when executed directly from the Procedure menu. This rules out any issue within the ACT – Expense Data Publish database procedure.

The issue occurs only when the procedure is triggered from Play Mode, which indicates that the root cause lies in the Capsule procedure configuration, specifically ACT – Expenses Data Publish.

What’s happening

When the procedure is launched from the label in Play Mode:

The confirmation message is displayed.
You click Yes.
The screen refreshes and the success message appears.
However, the database procedure is never actually executed, so no data is published.

This behavior typically occurs when the Show Message step or the procedure flow is not correctly configured in the Capsule procedure.

What to check and fix

Please review the Capsule procedure and ensure the following:

1. Show Message step (first step)

Yes/No must be enabled
If Yes must be set to Go to Group
The correct Procedure Group (e.g. Call DB Procedure) must be selected
Get back should be enabled if required by your flow

2. Procedure Group configuration

Inside the procedure group:

Action must be Call Procedure
The correct database procedure (ACT – Expense Data Publish) must be selected
Copy Current Select must be enabled
Copy Back Current Select should also be enabled if selections are needed after execution
Ensure the correct Data Model is selected

3. Execution order

Ensure that:

The Call Procedure step is actually reached in the execution flow
No Exit Procedure or Refresh Screen step is placed before the call to the database procedure

Why it works from the Procedure menu

When you run the procedure directly from the menu, it bypasses the Capsule logic entirely. Since the Capsule procedure flow is incomplete or misconfigured, the database procedure is never triggered when executed from Play Mode.

Once the Capsule procedure steps are aligned as above, the upload and publish will work correctly from the screen as well, just like it does for Sales data.

If the issue persists after validating these points, feel free to share an updated screenshot of the Capsule procedure flow for further review.

I checked the screens you showed, and I didn't find the issue. I think everything is alright at this level, but it still doesn't work.

Maybe it's just me not seeing the point, but I can't find the reason why it can't work.

I’ve reviewed the Capsule Procedure configuration you provided, and I agree with you — everything looks correctly configured at the Capsule Procedure level. There is no obvious issue in the execution flow or in the Call Procedure step based on what you’ve shared.

At this stage, since:

The database procedure runs successfully when executed directly, and
The Capsule Procedure itself appears to be correctly set up,

the next area we need to validate is the Label configuration on the screen, as this is what actually triggers the Capsule Procedure in Play Mode.

Could you please share the following screenshots from Design Mode of the screen where you click Load data:

Label → Data tab
- Action type
- Procedure location
- Selected Capsule Procedure

For reference, below is the type of Label configuration we are looking to validate:

This will help us confirm that the label is correctly pointing to the intended Capsule procedure and that nothing at the screen level is preventing the execution, even though the success messages are displayed.

Once we have these screenshots, we should be able to identify why the procedure is not being triggered from Play Mode.
