“Detail by” algorithm

I have Board 14.5 and a question about if datablock a, b, and c all have the exact same “Detail By” breakout, but c is an algorithm = a - b, is it possible to have c be side by side with a and b?

So using “Detail By” for both datablocks A and B, displays details side by side which is what I want, not to display all details of A, then all details of B. To be more specific, it shows in this order= A detail 1, B detail 1, A detail 2, B detail 2, etc….

My datablock C though which is = a - b, has the exact same “Detail by” but the whole datablock C with all its details is pushed to in the data view to the right, after all of the details from datablocks a and b.

Hi Emil,

unfortunately it is not possible with the detail by function + algorithm. Nonetheless here are some ideas to achieve your desired outcome:

• Calculate a cube instead of using an algorithm
  • Very much depends on the report and the application itself if this is feasible in your case
• Reverse the column / detail by logic in the layout
  • Instead of using the entity in the detail by, use it in columns and use detail by on the other blocks
