Level 200, How 6D data stored in 7D??

Question

* I understand the calculation logic but why we select  calculation domain > extend > Version(enable)?? can anyone please explain this concept or provide any reference page to understand it..
* How FX rate works??

How it is always selecting GBP data ?? what if we need to test it for other currency like eur ??

step 1 we store currency rates in   cubes UTIL - FX Rates

GBP and EUR

then how during conversion it is taking GBP only i don't see i hard code or manually selected GBP anywhere

can you please explain ??? and also  tell me way to see the flow of data during procedure execution

* How 6D data is stored in a 7D Cube:

When you store data from a 6-dimensional source into a 7-dimensional Cube, the "missing" dimension is typically handled by alignment. If you write a 6D value into a 7D Cube, Board will either:
A. Distribute the value across all members of the 7th dimension (if using a Dataflow with specific settings).
B. Map it to a specific member if a "Select" or "Fixed Selection" is active for that 7th dimension.

Essentially, the 6D data is treated as "Total" or "All" for that extra 7th dimension unless you specify otherwise.
* Why select Calculation Domain > Extend > Version (Enable)?

The Calculation Domain defines the range of cells processed. By default, Board only calculates where data already exists (non-zero tuples).
A. Extend: You use this to force the calculation onto "new" combinations that are currently empty.
B. Version (Enable): In multi-version environments (e.g., Actuals vs. Budget), enabling this ensures your calculation runs across all versions or specifically moves data between them. Without it, a Dataflow might only "see" the version currently in your selection.
* How FX Rates Work and Testing Other Currencies (EUR):

Board typically handles FX through a Dataflow where a "Local Currency" Cube is multiplied by an "Exchange Rate" Cube.
A. Fixed GBP Selection: If your screen always shows GBP, check the Pager or Screen Selection.
B. Testing EUR: To see EUR, you must change your Selection to the "EUR" member of your Currency Entity. If the data remains in GBP, verify that your "Exchange Rate" Cube actually contains rates for EUR and that your Dataflow has been executed for that specific currency member.
