Flexgrid 1 data block - detailed by columns - XLS export trouble

Hi all,

i have troubles to export into XLS simple flexgrid with 1 data block - by Column entity "Month"

The layout is working on screen, the trouble is only when tryin to export into XLS.

It's running without ending, no file generated, seems like frozen:

btw. the same layout in flexgrid just with Month in rows is working and can exported without any troubles…

If anybody has some idea how to solve, pls let me know.

Hi Peter, it looks like you're using the By Column option on the block there rather than just putting Month on the axis, correct? Can I check how many entities you have on your left axis? Also which version are you using here?

I've just tested with both 14.4 and 15 and in both cases I can export to Excel with some pretty complex layouts with several thousand rows and it hasn't taken more than a handful of seconds.

Also have you checked the Diagnostic Log to see whether it's reporting any issues?

Hi Robert,

yes, i have both version with Month in row and Month in "by Column", both options work on the screen, only trouble is with export to XLS for "by Column" option, which has 7 entities in row and approx. 11k rows.

We are using still version 14.3, so at least we can look forward to v15 to solve this issue.

I will check the logs too, do you know which log category should i focus on ?

Hi Peter, I'd probably focus on the Boardweb and Diagnostic logs, I suspect the Diagnostic log in particular would be the most likely to have any errors associated with that sort of thing given it's related to an external process (the process to create an Excel doc) rather than Board itself.
