Level 200, Module 204: Create cubes for sales data

Question

Hello everyone,

I’m currently stuck at a step in the training and could use some help.

According to the training material, after populating the entities, I should create a sales data cube. However, I can’t find an option to create the cube. The only option I seem to have is to copy an existing cube, so I suspect I may have missed a step or am working in the wrong area.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Could you please let me know where you found the files needed to populate the Entities Data Readers?

I am also having trouble accessing the Admin Portal, as I receive a “Page Not Found” error.

Hi  @Sandra M.,

Thank you for the additional information and for sharing the screenshot.

From the screenshot you provided, it actually looks like you are already in the Create a new cube wizard. The panel on the right shows the cube properties (such as Name, Group, Cube Type, and In RAM), which means Board has already opened the cube creation process.

At this stage, after entering or confirming the required cube properties (for example, Name, Group, Data Type/Cube Type, etc.), you don't need to look for another Create button.

Instead, click the blue circular arrow ( > ) on the right-hand side of the screen to proceed to the next step of the cube creation wizard. From there, you'll be able to continue configuring the cube and complete its creation.

Based on your screenshot, the cube name "TEMP - ACT - DR Units" has already been entered, so clicking the blue > button should allow you to move forward.

If clicking the blue arrow doesn't take you to the next step, could you please let us know:

Does anything happen when you click the blue > button (for example, an error message or no response at all)?

Hi @Jeff Williams,

Thank you for your quick response. However, I have not created any cubes yet, so I do not have any cubes available to select or deselect.

Despite this, when I click the "+" icon, I am only given the option to copy an existing cube rather than create a new one. Is there perhaps another way to create a new cube, or any alternative solution you could suggest for this issue?
