dataview > data-entry on block using "detail by" feature AND cells locked by cube

Hello,

I have this situation:

• one dataview having a few blocks.
• one block of this dataview:
  • uses the "detail by" (layout > block > detail by > select one entity for the detail by) function.
  • has data-entry enabled
    • uses the "suggested values" function using an entity and its members

This works. The dataview is shown, i can enter and save data, everything fine.

Now i want to apply also the Cells Locked by Block function for this block.

I am not sure if this is supposed to work or not.

I select the cube used for data-entry locking and then the dataview does not render anymore. It displays: "cannot run the requested analysis".

The layout "issues" section shows "no issues" so i cannot know whether i am doing something allowed or not:

I found nothing in these sections regarding limitation of the combination "detail by", "dataentry" and "cells locked by block":

I would expect any limitation to be specified in one of these two sections

Has anyone already met this issue? How do you combine the two features "detail by", "cells locked by block"?

Hi @Arnaud Villemain ,

From what I know, when a data entry cube uses Detail By and a separate cube is used to lock data entry, both cubes need to use the same Detail By for the Lock By to work as expected.

I’m not sure whether this would cause the Data View to crash, but matching the Detail By settings should be necessary for the locking behavior to work correctly. Could you try applying the same Detail By to both cubes and let us know if that resolves the issue?
