What to look for when a hierarchy gets scrambled

Hi All... I've been noticing a specific hierarchy get scrambled after a daily procedure which has around 100 steps. The hierarchy is loaded via flat-file and the file is perfect (i checked multiple times). I do have a normalization step in the above-mentioned procedure and at "All" level

Need some pointer on how to go about troubleshooting this

first of all - what do you mean by "the hierarchy gets scrambeled?" Which effects / symptoms do you experience?

If this does not help try breaking down your process. You say you load the hierarchy from one flat file - that means the 100 steps in you procedure probably don't matter for you problem. So focus an the hierarchy and the data reader. Check that you built the hierarchy correctly: Did you set all indirect relationships?

Check that the data reader has a correct mapping of all fields. Do you use an ETL? Check it again. If you changed the structure of the data reader you might need to confirm the etl again to set all formulas correctly.

Do you load the whole hierarchy in one data reader? If not, you will need to normalize you tree after loading. Check that those setting are correct.

If possible, try clearing the whole hierarchy in a copy of the database (clear all entities involved) and reload the file.
