Substitution variables in Nexel formulas

To make the application more usable for end users, I would like to lookup a rate from a block in the dataview.  It is not a show stopper as I have other ways of achieving the result I need.

 

Either using a crossview or data picker functionality.  For example:

crossview example = [#Rates;@b;[@c;*;*];*]

data picker example = @[V185]{Award Code=[@c;*;*]}

 

Unfortunately the nexel documentation is very sparse for Nexel formulas and examples.  The examples appear to be shown as if using excel and not in the nexel editor references and syntax.
