  • Dear YEYE ZHANG,

    thanks for your request.

Did you try to create a new capsule and insert some procedure to that?

That is the best test to see if the problem is general or due to this special capsule.

    regards

    Dear Alexander Kappes

    thanks for your reply.

I tried to edit old procedure in old capsule.

And I have checked other capsule. There are same problem.

  • Dear YEYE ZHANG,

exactly for that reason my suggestion was building a new capsule and spending a try.

Perhaps its also related to permissions in capsule folder.

    regards

    Dear Alexander Kappes

    thank you for your suggestion.

I built a new capsule that using the same database. There are same problems.

it is very slow to create a new action in Capsule procedure.

I think the problem is the database not capsule.

    The reasons are the following.

At first, I checked the performance of database's procedure and I can't create a new action quickly like that in capsule procedure using the same database.

Then, I built a new capsule in a new database.it is very fast to create a new action.

Could you tell me how to Solve the problem about database?

I edited entities and cubes some times (cleared and reused )

That gave effect to the performance of database and procedure?

    regards

  • Dear YEYE ZHANG,

it sounds like problem with the permissions on file system.

I would suggest to check if the permissions for the new database and capsule on file system are different than the "old" ones.

Otherwise perhaps it will make sense to request our support team to investigate.

    regards

    Dear Alexander Kappes

    Thank you for your suggestion.

I use the same user ID and security profile to access those two databases(old one and new one).

They should have same permission for each database.is it right?

by the way, the permission setting is in System → Security Profiles →Capsules ,Databases?

    regards

  • Dear YEYE ZHANG,

I don´t mean this permissions which can be managed inside BOARD for the Users.

I mean the file permissions for the board folder and the user running BOARD engine (by default system account).

Perhaps this is the reason for the slow reaction.

    regards

    Dear Alexander Kappes

we confirmed all files under Board folder are permitted for read/writing.

Just recent days, we encountered such problem, so far we have no such slow performance behavior.

Have you experienced if cubes become more and more, then the performance for procedure became slower?

    Dear Alexander Kappes

Thank you for your suggestion for long time.

Is there a way to check the database's performance?

I think that maybe there are some problems in the database. But I don't know how to check if it's OK.

  • Dear YEYE ZHANG,

for general there are several articles inside the community which are describing the application / database performance optimization, attached on sample (Best Practices for Performance Tuning on big data models ).

Like you describe the issue I don´t think that it is related to the Database or their design, for that my suggestion to ask the support for checking the database.

Alternatively when you have testing environment or sandbox, is the behavior for that the same?

    regards
