What is 'Save Database to Disk' used for?

Can anyone in the Community explain what the 'Save Database to Disk' action would be used for?

 

It doesn't even get mentioned under Advanced actions on the help site.

Hi,

 

this is needend if you use the BOARD Server Saving Policy  "OnServerClose" to write changes from Ram to Disk (cause otherwise it would be only done, when the server is stopped)
