Prior Year Total

I can current YTD (yearly cumulative value) and prior YTD (yearly cumulative value with prior year selected), but how do I get the full Prior Year total? I don't want a moving total. Eg; If the selected month is March 2020, I want the January 2019-December 2019 total.

Hello @Mark Schad,
you can also apply an "open-trigger" procedure on the screen and with that "apply the selection to a block".
or just save the procedure in the screen and execute it only when needed.

in that way you will be able to select March 2020 and then - executing the procedure - select a specific year for the comparison.

Hi Mark Schad,

the easiest way is to have a second cube where you change the dimension month to year. Then fill this cube via dataflow.

This cube reacts with the year when you select the month. If you then set previous year for this block you get the data from entire last year.

IMHO the open trigger technique is not very flexible. Recently I had users having issues because the trigger was not executed, making the screen unusable.
A "full year value" time function seems quite easy to develop and much easier to use.

like I wrote in my post (2.) the easiest way is to have a second cube not dimensioned by month but dimensioned by year. This cube can be filled by dataflow and it reacts only with the full year value no matter which month of the year is selected. You can set this one also to previous year.
