Prevent DataView Hamburger Menu from Auto Expanding

Is there any way to stop the hamburger menu in the top-left corner of the menu from auto-expanding when you click on a cell in the table?  It's really annoying and invasive.  The menu is there.  I know it's there.  If I want to use it, I will click on it

    Dear Mark Schad,

     

    unfortunately you can only disable the sliding panel in total. Means when it is disabled you can´t reach it.

     

    Perhaps this could be a great "Inspriation".
