Board add-in not working - corrupted spreadsheet?

I have one spreadsheet where the Board add-in has stopped working. I can connect but get no response when clicking on Layout, Sheet Selection etc.  This only happens on this particular spreadsheet (Excel binary - xlsb).

Has anyone overcome this problem before? I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting, creating a new Layout on a new tab, deleting tabs, different version of Excel.

    Dear @Ben Campbell,
if you tried to work with that specific Excel file also from another laptop and it is not working anymore, probably it is corrupted in some way: very strange behavior.

I think the best action for you is to open a ticket in our Support Portal (https://support.board.com) and solve with us.

    ciao,
    federico

  • Hi!

A number of Excel Add-in issues (including some related to layouts) have been resolved in recent releases of BOARD.

    BOARD 12.5 release notes:

    https://www.boardmanual.com/2021/summer/whats-new-release-notes/2023-spring-release/bug-fixes-minor-changes.htm

If opening a ticket with support, it is helpful to attach the Excel Add-in logs. Logging is disabled by default.

To enable logging for the Excel Add-in:

    1. Open Excel > Go to BOARD tab > Click Add-in Settings

    2. In the pop-up window, click the drop down for logging level and select "Full." Click ok.

    3. Recreate the issue in Excel. Then reopen the Add-in Settings panel. Click "Open Log File."

    4. A file will open with the logs. You can include this in a support ticket to assist in our evaluation of the issue.
