Here is a question from @Alicia Meredith-Smith:

Hi team,

I am using a data view to display WTD, MTD and YTD information.

I have 2 entities on Rows, a Group and a child. I need the Group row to be a different colour to that of the child below. Is that possible?

Thank you so much!

    Hi @Sandra Bartl and @Alicia Meredith-Smith,

you can easily change the colors in a DataView using the Color Settings on the right side. Simply select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu (e.g. Cell Background = Color of Child Entity ; GroupBy Background = Color of Group Entity).

Thank you so much for getting back to me @Sandra Bartl and @Johannes Blischke.

Below, is the dataview I've created. I need the first group, Full Price, to be a different colour to the 2nd group, Boutiques. Apologies, I should've added this in my original post. Unfortunately, the GroupBy background option, changes both groups to the same colour as I'm not able to distinguish between groups.

Do you perhaps have any ideas how I can achieve this?

    Hi @Alicia Meredith-Smith,

    oh, I'm sorry. I guess I misunderstood.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to colorize the GroupBy Levels differently and I can't think of any other way to do this. Sorry.

    Best regards
    Johannes

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly @Johannes Blischke :-)

Do you think I could use a Template to change the colour of a group? I haven't had much experience with Board yet so I'm not sure what the limitations of Templates are.

Unfortunately, the template can only be used to format the deepest row entity. Therefore it does not affect the GroupBys.
As I said, I'm very sorry, but I don't think there is a way to color the GroupBy levels differently.

That's a pity. But I appreciate all your help with this topic @Johannes Blischke.

    Thank you so much!
