Pager in ATO Enabled Panel

Is it still possible to have an ATO enabled panel with a Pager in 10.6+ web?

 

In WinClient we drag the panel onto the screen, enable ATO on it, then drag a Pager into the panel.

When I do that in 10.6 web I get… "you cannot drag a Pager as a child of an ATO"

I'm hoping there's just a different process to achieve it, and that this functionality hasn't disappeared completely!

try to use the so-called Entity Editor (new object). You can find it directly below the pager in the object list:

Thanks @Johannes Blischke, but I don't need an ATO enabled Pager.  As I mention, I need an ATO ENABLED PANEL, and then I need to put a 'normal' Pager in it.

It is not for entity editing, it is for 'splitting' a screen into two sections which can have different selections (albeit limited).

The ATO Enabled Panel + Pger is a rough way to try and get BOARD to do something that other BI tools do quite easily, run different selections on different objects on the same screen (without the need for filtering within the layout or hard selects).

Using a pager within an ATO enabled Panel gave two areas of your screen with different 'selections' (albeit limited), the Main screen and the Panel.

We have several solutions which have been developed for clients using this feature.  It is something BOARD support advised us of a few years ago and we took advantage of it.

Hopefully it's still possible somehow, as it's an area in which the product was already lacking, so going backwards isn't going to help that.

you need to use the new Entity Editor from the toolbox instead of a pager. ATO automatically gets enabled when you add it to the screen or container but you cannot use it in combination with a pager (in the screen or container)

Hi @Brendan Broughton,

the Entity Editor works the same way like the ATO Pager and you are also able to have different selections between panels and main screen.

(Screenshot shows dataview on main screen on the left-hand side and two panels with different selections on the right-hand side).

Ah gotcha, thanks @Johannes Blischke ! I'll check that out. The name 'entity editor' sounded like it was just for editing entities, but seems it's more like the 'old' ATO enabled Pager.

Hey @Johannes Blischke, finally putting this into play - but I'm noticing that the user needs to always select an entity before it will display anything - which isn't really ideal for a dashboard.

Is there a way to get it to default to a selection/element on open like with a pager?

Hey Johannes,  Sorry for replying to such an old message... but any idea why I still get all of the entity editors showing the same selection as soon as one is set?  The Purple and Blue below are separate panels.  If I select a month on any of the entity editors they all show the same month.  Is there a setting somewhere else I need to do?



You'll see below all the entity editors now show Aug 19... yet yours above don't. 



Any idea?  Is it not possible on month, or is possible that it's a version issue (it's B10 that's a few updates old).
