Header Group Row

Dear Community,

Is it possible to create a group Header that keeps specific columns together, as below? I am looking for the functionality that will create the DAY – WTD – MTD sections for me, in a dataview.

we had an similar issue on my side. We solved it simply with labels. Not the best solution but it worked. If anybody else has an better approach I would be interested.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I have gone down the label route but the labels don't export to Excel unfortunately.

I need to create this report as an automated subscription so it's quite an issue as it does not render as expected. ��‍♀️

It's really frustrating as this should be a stock-standard functionality in a reporting application.

Hello Alicia,

another idea that come to my mind. I wouldn´t call it a solution but it should work if you absolutly have to get this fixed.

First you create two entitys. The first one represents the headers Actuals-Day LY-Day and so on. The second entity represents the grouped headers. Link them via an relationship.

In the next step you create an cube that consist of time and the newly created entity. Last step would be to fill the cube with an procedure according to your layout.

on web designer the Dataview supports a multi-level column header when using the web-client. The feature can be enabled from the web designer in the table-style settings.

The Multi-level header checkbox is ticked but I don't know how to use it if I'm honest. How do I add the Topmost header to group the second row of headers? &#55357;&#56853;

Hi Alicia,

Its a simple drag and drop. If the two entities are independent of each other, you can choose which to make the topmost header by simply dragging it to the front.

If the entities are part of an hierarchy, for eg. month and quarter, you cannot choose the topmost header as quarter is a parent of the month entity and will always be the topmost header.
