1. What is your idea?Add a tool, similar to the Transporter, to analyze differences between two versions of a capsule
2. What specific problem are you trying to find a solution to, or what new scenario would this idea respond to?
It often happens that we need to double check the differences between two versions of the same capsule, before copying one over the other.
When some users have Power User access (for example a functional key user with access to adjust his own reports directly in production), you don't always know the latest changes.
3. What workaround have you found and used so far (if any)?
We just check all screens by hand... it can be long !
4. What is your role in your organization?
Finance project team manager.
5. Suggested solution
Create an equivalent to the transporter tool for capsules, even basic (kind of a "diff" tool):
- list of screens, compared
- list of layouts, compared
- definitions of layouts, compared
This could be done (kind of, with a lot of analysis) with the export meta data function before, but there's not equivalent in the web capsules.
