A new home for selectors/pagers to offer more space on the development area

Hi Community Members,

do you have the same situation like we have with cluttered reports because of many selectors and big dataviews to show?

Please feel free to add your ideas or solutions in the comments below.

 

current situation

The selectors/pagers etc. which has to be placed on the development area steal the space for showing data in dataviews especially in reports with many columns.

 

Idea

Implementing a new „home“ for all data filters like selectors, pagers etc. away from the visible screen in play mode.

Here are some ideas to this „configurable menue“:

a sliding toolbar like we have currently in design mode.

or in a mouseover function like in the current mouseover over the board logo.

or as a new icon with configurable dropdown menu in the menue bar.

possible benefits

• enables more space for displaying data/information to the end user
• more user friendly reports can be created
  • because less scrolling sideways necessary
  • bigger font sizes are possible
• less distraction and more focus on the report
• higher end user aceptance
• one home for selectors and other objects

What workaround have you found and used so far (if any)?

We use two Tabs in two layers to reduce the needed space for all selectors/pagers.
