New training for the Smart Import Objects tool

Board Academy has launched a training program for the Smart Import Object enhancement in conjunction with the 2023 Spring Release. As our customers and partners, you’ll find these courses in the Board Academy alongside your other Board training tools—including training on the REST API, which is also part of the 2023 Spring Release.

The enhanced Smart Import Object feature is a Screen object that allows the definition of simplified, guided processes to import Excel datasets into Board. In particular, the enhancement allows the embedded ETL layer to unlock new and complex use cases. The feature can load constant values and simplify the data preparation process.

This enhancement is ideal for Makers and end-users looking for the simplicity of high-quality data loads or those who want to avoid dealing with the system's business rules.

The Board Manual describes some of the features of the enhancements of the Smart Import Object feature, which was released in 2022. The new training program will help further guide you to understand the functionality and ways to leverage the tool.
