Excel Add-in
Hi everyone,
we installed the add-in for excel and everything is working fine but there is something quite annoying.
When you connect to BOARD via the Excel add-in, it automatically disconnect you from BOARD it self. When we come back to it, it will show us an error saying we are already connected (obviously via Excel)
Is it possible to allow to navigate BOARD via the navigator and excel in the same time ?

Hi,
please check the following page: the parallel use has been introduced in Board 12 and requires to re-certificate the license master key.
It depends on a specific property of the license, "WebService": if set to false and doesn't change upon certificaiton, you can open a communication with your Board commercial contact.
If you are on cloud, you can raise a ticket to the cloud support.Regards

I have the same experience when using the Power BI add-in. Logging into the Power add-in, logs me out on the web client

Hi!
If you're using the same user name to authenticate BOARD Web and the Excel Add-in, BOARD will treat this as multiple logins if the Web Service setting is set to false (and believe it is false by default). You can open a support ticket and ask for this setting to be changed.
As an example, if Web Service is set to false - Board does the following:
If you login to BOARD again and have another session open, BOARD will close out the other sessions.
If you log into BOARD Web and then the Excel Add-in, it will also log you out of BOARD Web.
Other temp work around:
Create a second BOARD login and use it to log into the Excel Add-in while logged into BOARD Web using your regular login.

thank you for your answer, it is indeed an issue with the licence.
Here is the answer of the support :
Hi,issue due to the license (to be updated (thus including WebServices))
please resubmit the license key from mit.board.com
the updated license will be returned (by email)
in order to install it, please follow the steps below
- stop the Board Engine service (no users connected, no running tasks)
- replace the old key with the new one in the Board Server installation directory (C:\Program Files\Board\Board Server)
