Roles and Folder Security Profiles

When copying over data models from production to the sandbox, the user Roles and Security Profiles did not get copied over. It's fine since I don't need them in the Sandbox environment, but when we go to copy the sandbox back over to production, I don't want it to overwrite or erase the profiles I have.

Can anyone shed some knowledge on whether Roles and Security Profiles under the System Admin won't get changed or deleted when copying from one environment to another?

The roles in the system admin area need to manually be updated. They are specific to each environment unlike the data model roles which come over from a Backup of the data model.

None that I am aware of. For an On-Prem server there may be something stored on the local drive that could potentially be backed up, but for Cloud unfortunately those drives are not visible. You could open a case with Board support to see if there is something accessible. But might be a good enhancement request to add to the Community.

Hi @John Hughes,

You can raise a case to cloud ops team to give you a copy of the User profiles from the backend file system. They can also copy over the user profile from one instance to the other.
