D365 Data Connector Security

Hello friends,

Wanted to know if any of you is using the D365 dataconnector to connect to Board and how you are doing it.

I understand that the dataconnector allows for read/write on D365 which may pose a security issue. Anyone of you who has succeeded in having a connection with read access only on D365 (Database synonymns etc)

This would be of great help.

  • Hello Khaleelah,

we have been able to connect to D365 instances through the connector we provide on our Board Cloud Datapipeline portal. The different methods of connecting to this data source are documented in this guide, where you can also access the connector's documentation.

As for your security concern, this would be the same for any data source we connect to, not just D365. In general, the permission/authorization that the D365 account used in the connector settings has, is managed by D365 admins on their side.

Hope this answers your question, let me know should you need further info.

  • Hi Andrea,

Thank you for the information. We are on Cloud D365. The D365 provides read/write access to board when using the connector. I was wondering if anyone using D365 cloud version was able to connect like via a synonym database (or others) with read access only. This would have simplified our process.

    Thanks
