Export screen data to xlsx
Hello,
I am currently experiencing an issue with exporting the Data View to Excel and would appreciate your assistance.
When I select the "Standard Microsoft Excel Workflow" export option, the generated file maintains the exact format of the Data View, which is ideal for my needs. However, I lose the formulas required to calculate column totals and row totals.
Alternatively, when I use the "Microsoft Excel Workbook for Board Add-in" export option and enable "Use formulas," I encounter a different problem. The exported file does not align with the original Data View formatting. This misalignment occurs primarily because my Data View contains multiple entities in the rows, which act as grouping elements. In the Data View, each entity was highlighted in gray, and the "View totals on expand groups" option was active, showing the totals for each group in the gray lines.
Is there any workaround or alternative export method available that would allow me to retain both the Data View's original formatting and the necessary formulas for totals in an xlsx format ?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Felipe

Hi @Felipe Pimentel ,
which formulas are you referring to that are not exported by the "Standard" method?
The second option explicitly states that it does not retain formatting

Thank you for your response.
I am referring to the formulas used to calculate column totals and row totals in the Data View. When using the "Standard Microsoft Excel Workflow" export method, these totals are generated correctly in the Data View but are not exported as formulas in the Excel file, which only shows the static values.
I understand that the second option does not retain formatting. However, I am trying to find a way to have both the correct formatting and the necessary formulas for totals in the exported xlsx file.
Would there be any workaround or recommended method to achieve this ?
Your image appears different from what I have available. Could you please check if you can select both options 'Use Excel formulas for calculated blocks, column and row totals' and 'Export formatting' , on your end ? Below is the image I have available for reference.
Thank you,
Felipe

Hi @Felipe Pimentel ,
yes, I'm referring to B14 (that's why the export looks a little different). If I tick both options
I get a result in XLS that's according to your expectation
"Summe" is the german word for "Sum".
So, I'd assume that if you'd switch to B14, you'll get what you want.
Best,
