For each Board Cloud environment, we require details of at least: one Technical Contact and one Security Contact (scroll down for more details).

What Are Technical and Security Contacts?
- Technical Contacts: The Technical Contact is the primary technical person who administers the subscription to the software and is typically responsible for the operational management and configuration of the SaaS product within the customer's organization. These individuals are the point of contact for receiving communications about service status from Board. They would receive updates and notifications specifically related to Board services, such as incident notifications, extra-ordinary maintenance windows requests for upgrades, etc.
- Security Contacts: The Security Contact is designated as the primary point of contact for an organization regarding security incidents. This individual is the first to be alerted and is responsible for orchestrating response efforts within their organization. Their duties include assembling critical details and conveying these to Board Cloud Operations, Support, or other teams as necessary. The Security Contact ensures that these entities receive timely and accurate information necessary to support efficient resolution of the security issue.
Why is it important to share and maintain up-to-date technical and security contacts?
- Effective Incident Management: In urgent situations, it's crucial to promptly reach the right person. Keeping these contacts updated ensures timely notifications and improves overall efficiency in resolving issues.
- Reliable Communication Channel: Maintaining accurate contact information creates a direct link between the Cloud Operations team and the customer. This enables swift alerts about vulnerabilities, emergency patches, or potential threats, the sharing of critical compliance updates, or the coordination of unplanned maintenance windows.
- Essential for Security Breaches: In the event of a security breach, we are committed to notifying affected customers as soon as we become aware. Having updated contacts simplifies communication and enhances collaboration in addressing the issue effectively.
Can this email address be used to update any other contacts Board has?
Yes, to inform Board of any other changes or updates that need to be made to your account you can use this address, alternatively your Customer Success Manager can also take the changes and will be regularly verifying your contacts during Board Business Reviews.
