Preview SQL statement should also work with final data reader process

We are using B12 cloud version and are connected to several SQL databases (our data warehouse). I know, best idea and work is that the SQL database has tables and views organised, that fit the need of board - without the need to implement ETL etc.
However, life is not alway such easy and to get this, I always need support of other collegues of our BI or IT department.
I always prefer a high degree of autonomy and like the way board supports this. But when I design a SQL querry I often face the fact, that the preview table looks right, but the final execution fails with little details on the errors.
It would be helpful to make sure, preview and running SQL querries leads to the same result.
