The Progress On-Premises Connector (OPC) historically included the required Java version bundled within its installer packages. This approach ensured that users had the necessary Java Runtime Environment (JRE) available without needing to manage separate dependencies.
However, starting with version 4.6.2, this behavior has changed.
Key Changes
- Up to version 4.6.1:
The OPC installer package included the required Java version. - From version 4.6.2 onwards:
Java is no longer bundled with the installer.
Users must manually download and install the appropriate JDK version before proceeding with the OPC installation or upgrade.
