Level300_Module304: Functional test, Question no 3, Values fall apart starting Aug '23

Hi,

I noticed that there is a mismatch between the P&L structure in trainings environment and the board academy module 304 functional test.

The question is

Values are matching Jan to Jul '23 but fall apart after.

I have checked and the Total income is fine for the whole year, so the issue is in the total expenses. Sadly the screenshot is not the full P&L but in Sales Expense there is already a missmatch which comes from the "rent".

Repairs are fine too so the rest variance need to be explained from later sections.

Hi @Sebastian,

I understand that you are reporting a mismatch between the P&L structure in the training environment and the Board Academy Module 304 functional test.

Could you please confirm whether you loaded the sales and expense forecast data as instructed in the initial steps of the functional test? Additionally, have you created the default Screen Selections as outlined in Module 304?

I also recommend restarting your training instance and then checking again to see if you are able to complete the question correctly.

I have to withdraw my statement; the problem is something else.

I can confirm the points you wanted to have confirmed. I did all that and it works fine. The issue I see is still there.

Restarting the training instance and redoing the process is an unsatisfactory solution, as it does not address or explain the underlying problem I am experiencing.

Instead I cleared the "PLN*" cubes and checked again from there.

By doing this I found out that the problem is differently as expected.

After clearing the cubes I started again to initalize the budget and update the P&L.

—> New question, why Total income, annual value starts with a comma? (,313,360,172)

NL and JP have budgeted values already at this stage

I checked the data (expenses) which would be uploaded from the bottom-up approach. For NL there are the month Aug to Dec and for JP Apr to Dec. The values are 1:1 compared to those from Budget. —> no changes are done by uploading bottom-up data.

By Initalizing FCST 3+9 and Updating P&L, atual data for Q1 is added.

Until this step I have not reuploaded the bottom-up sales and expense data files for NL or JP.

So the underlying topic of module 304 is to overwrite budget and fcst for NL and JP by uploading bottom-up planning data. but the values are the same as in budget so no changes happen at all.
