Override security when displaying data in a bar graph

Hello,

Is there a different way of overriding security other than the "Refer to"?

We are trying to display all Business Units in a bar graph which means we need to override the security for all users. This allows them to compare their values to other Business units.

Using "Refer to" to show all BUs in a bar graph means that the BUs will not be shown in the categories instead it will be shown as legend. We prefer the categories.

Hi Efraim, there are a few approaches you could look at here depending on your precise security setup and requirements. Rather than applying security at the entity level you could instead apply it at the cube level so as to limit what users can see in some cubes while allowing unfettered access to others, you can do this dynamically using cube level security restrictions in the Data Model Security:

Alternatively you could create a replicated entity for the Business Unit, flow the data to a cube dimensioned by that new hierarchy and allow the user to see data for all Business Units in that way, as you'd now have it against a hierarchy to which they have unrestricted access. You can use a 1 to 1 mapping cube between the original and replicated hierarchies to enable you to transfer selections and map data between the two as needed.

A third option is to actually load such data into a separate reporting database to which the user might have greater access than a planning database say, in that way you can create a set of more aggregate reporting to which the user has greater access than you might grant them to more detailed/granular data, which might contains more sensitive nuance.
