Restricting the disabling of sorting on column in flexgrid

Hi Team,

I have a flex grid object, there i am using a multiple sorting on it,

If i click once, it changes to ascending order  ↑

If i click again, it changes to descending order  ↓

If i click it again, it removes the sorting order.

it exceeding the no. of clicks so, here customer don't want to remove the sorting on the column while changing order.

could anyone help me in this.

I see, thanks for clarifying. I understand the scenario now.

In that case, I would refer back to Rob’s point. The Flex Grid is designed to be interactive, so sorting is mainly controlled by the user through the column headers, which is different from a standard Data View, where sorting could be more strictly defined at the layout level.

If maintaining the initial sort order is critical, my recommendation would be to disable Sorting Modification in Play mode. That way, users cannot change the sort order after it has been configured by the dev team.

Alternatively, if users do need sorting flexibility, it may be worth providing them with guidance on how the interaction works. For example, if a sort is already applied in design mode: Clicking the sorted column once changes the sort direction. Clicking it a second time removes the sort. If there is a secondary sort column, the user would need to click that column again to reapply or restore the intended sort sequence.

The behavior is entirely user-driven, so if the sort on the first column is removed, users would need to interact with the second column again to reestablish the intended order.

Actually, users need to have the ability to change the sorting in play mode.

At the same time while changing the sorting, it shouldn't be go away.

Is there any way that can we restrict it.
