Data Entry - doesn't work for all items
Hello,
I have a cube that has a Sales Team and Month entity. Data Entry is enabled in order to manually insert values. However, not all of the teams are "enabled" meaning that not for all teams I can write a value (see below). Do you have any idea on how could I investigate the cause of this?
Thank you,

Hi,
which entites are in ByRow of the Layout? It seems not to be the month (I guess it's a custom time entity).

Hi Cosmina,
from your screenshot it seems that your layout has this logical detail [Sales Team, Month] and your cube has a different physical detail.
Basically you can not put a value on an empty cube if you are not on physical level, but you can change its content from an aggregate logical level if:
- you already have values on the cube (this is the case) and you use the Split&Splat functionality >> see The Logical Data-entry: Data Split & Splat
- the cube is empty and you use another (non empty) cube as a driver to allocate new values in the empty cube >> Split and Splat Based on Cube
Hope I help you

..adding to what Björn Reuberand Domenico Panetta have commented, I see the count of items for Sales Team is much larger than the rows displayed. This tells me you'll need to select an item in the Sales Team tree at a lower grain. More specifically, you should chose the Sales Team tree item at the same grain as the cube displayed in the dataview.

Hi Bjorn. In the ByRow I have the Sales Team and the Quarter. The cube is Month and Sales Team. The number in front of each Sales Team summary is actually the id of the Sales Team. I applied what Domenico said ( Split and Splat Based on Cube) and it seems to be working.
Thanks a lot for the quick responses here! All the info's were really helpful.

Hi Domenico,
Thank you for your reply. I applied the second option (Split and Splat Based on Cube) and it works now. Thanks a lot!!

Hi Bob. I think this was a little confusion from my part. The number in front of each Sales Team from the pic, is the ID of the Sales Team. The solution provided by Domenico worked. I will try to be a little more specific next time. Thanks for your reply.
