please provide at least which dimensions you are talking about--are those in the 2 Dim Cube part of the 3 Dim Cube as well or are they completely different?

Yes 2D cube has same dimensions of 3d example 3d has x, y, z dimension and

2d has y, z dimension which holds minimum of X
