How to Activate Data entry log by DB ?

Hi everyone,

everything is in the title, I'm wondering if it is possible to activate the Data Entry log for one specific database only ?

We have an app that would require a precise follow-up of who enters what, but I fear it would impact significantly all other apps if we activate the data entry log for all the server.

Any thoughts ?

    Hi Etienne,

     

     Not sure of speed impact on this been switched on, but if you have something in particular you want to monitor you could have it write the differences to a logging cube in Board, and that way you can see what is occurring and who is making changes.

     

    Not the neatest but if you don't want to switch logging on for all might get you around the situation?

    Hi Graeme,

    Thanks for your input, indeed we are already using something similar as a workaround but sometimes the data entry log would be much better to investigate and understand the exact user behavior.

    Hi Etienne,

     

     Yeah would be useful to be able to switch on one at a time but cant see this been possible in current version. Maybe put this across to the ideas section and then we can vote it up as a good idea for enhancement, unfortunately that wont help you currently.
