First impressions of release 10.5 (especially HTML5 client)

Hello BOARD Specialists,
I'm just taking a closer look at the current release 10.5. All in all it works, especially with the web client. Yes, one or the other function is missing, but I'm sure there will be something else.

 

  • With some, quite complex diagrams there was a problem with the display when I switched to 10.5. However, this was the same in the WIN client and in the WEB client.

      "Under the hood" there seem to be more changes after all!

 

  • I also noticed that the color setting in the NEW HTML5-Client is obviously a bit "confused". I Lost my RED ;-) See screenshot:

      This is annoying because the color coding is very important for me in many places.

      Does anyone have an idea why that is, or how to fix it?

 

  • The scaling in the WEB client now actually works independently of the size settings of the development screen. Very nice!

 

  • But what really makes me wonder is: I have been using BOARD for some time now, always with the web client in the direction of the user. But the decimal representation seems to be a problem that can't be solved.

      Okay, Switzerland seems to have a very special procedure for displaying numbers and values with comma, dot and       apostrophe. But it should be possible to provide the rest of the customers with the "correct" number formats.

 

      What are your impressions / experiences with the current release?

    Hello Dirk,

     

    I think Board 10.5 is a good release and I am pretty confident with it. But I am having a big stopper to eliminate the heavy windows client from some customers: THE COPY/PASTE functionality. It is difficult to tell and convince users: "leave the heavy windows client and work with HTML5 web client" without this functionality, at least at self-service BI environments.

     

    I can't migrate a Board 9 stable installation with 3 environments and >500 users to 11.0 at this moment. I am in the middle of a migration project and I am having some fights about this copy/paste issue...

     

    Support told me that this is functionality is not coming at any 10.5.xxxx version but I hope BOARD change their mind about this.

     

    Thank you and I will be waiting for further changes in 10.5.xxxx version.
