Do you expertise with Cognos integration in BOARD? How to establish the connection? ODBC, flt files.

Hi Marcel,

we have an hourly upload of data from Cognos TM1 and use a .txt file stored on a shared server directory.

Which Cognos product are you specifically referring to?  Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics or Cognos BI/Analytics?

Hello Marcel Bila,

it really depends on what are you keen to extract:

* A ODBC/SQL connection is for sure more reliable and easy to use, but I suspect it will only allow you to extract the data from the Cognos underlying database or data-warehouse.
* Instead, if you need information which is only contained in the Cognos metadata (such as specifically calculated KPIs) I believe your only solution is to build a report in Cognos and extract it in text format to load it in BOARD later.
